Summary

The I&E Planner is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating instrumentation and electrical maintenance work that supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Plant 1 manufacturing facility. This position develops detailed work packages for preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, capital projects, and plant outages by coordinating labor, materials, contractors, and equipment resources. Working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Supply Chain, the I&E Planner helps improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and ensure maintenance activities are executed safely and efficiently. This is a salaried, non-exempt, day shift position designated as Safety Critical.

Description

  • Develop detailed job plans and work packages for instrumentation and electrical maintenance activities.
  • Review maintenance notifications, verify field conditions, and define the scope of work required for successful execution.
  • Prepare complete work packages including drawings, specifications, procedures, QA/QC documentation, labor estimates, material requirements, special tools, and contractor services.
  • Plan preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, capital projects, and planned shutdown activities.
  • Lead or participate in sourcing, bidding, and procurement of contractor services and maintenance materials.
  • Coordinate contractor activities, including pre-job planning meetings, change orders, and post-job reviews.
  • Create and maintain SAP work orders, task lists, bills of material (BOMs), and equipment records in accordance with maintenance workflow standards.
  • Analyze completed work by comparing actual labor and material usage against planned estimates and incorporate lessons learned into future job plans.
  • Maintain job plan libraries and continuously improve planning quality and execution efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain spare parts information to support maintenance reliability.
  • Support maintenance shutdowns, plant outages, supervisor coverage, and rotating weekend duty as required.
  • Prioritize work orders in coordination with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, and Production Maintenance Coordinators.
  • Own and maintain the SAP maintenance backlog for the assigned operating area.
  • Ensure work planning activities comply with Maintenance Workflow processes and Management of Change (MOC) requirements.
  • Identify and coordinate qualified contractors to support equipment reliability improvements and recurring maintenance issues.
  • Support plant objectives related to safety, reliability, quality, compliance, and cost performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical education or an associate degree in a related discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of instrumentation and electrical maintenance planning or maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the chemical process industry.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation, electrical systems, motors, motor controls, low- and high-voltage equipment, and multi-phase power systems.
  • Experience reading and interpreting P&IDs, electrical drawings, loop drawings, and equipment documentation.
  • Working knowledge of industrial mechanical systems including pumps, valves, piping systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Experience using SAP Plant Maintenance (PM), Materials Management (MM), Purchasing, or an equivalent computerized maintenance management system.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computerized reporting tools.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling, contractor coordination, and work management processes.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical drawings and equipment documentation.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
