The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for end-to-end supply chain operations, distribution, and logistics. This position leads supply chain strategy, production and shipping planning, transportation fleet management, supplier negotiations, and inventory optimization. The Supply Chain Manager also leads and develops the team while ensuring safe operations, regulatory and company compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
Define and implement supply chain strategies that support business needs across railcar fleets, carriers, terminals, and distribution locations.
Negotiate agreements for distribution facilities, railcar fleets, terminals, and purchased products.
Proactively manage railcar fleet requirements, including repairs and inspections.
Coordinate production and shipping plans with Sales and Operations to support reliable plant performance and customer deliveries.
Ensure empty railcar availability and prevent rail congestion from disrupting production.
Optimize lead times and inventory levels to improve cash flow and working capital.
Monitor payment terms, inventory, and other working capital drivers, and develop improvement strategies.
Lead and coach the supply chain team to achieve budget targets and company objectives.
Ensure the team has the resources, skills, training, and support needed to deliver results.
Establish effective business processes and develop team capabilities to improve supply chain performance.
Help the team prioritize activities and maintain a positive, collaborative work environment.
Promote company process and behavioral safety principles and enforce Life Saving Rules.
Report incidents, near misses, and hazards, and lead onsite investigations to establish effective, sustainable corrective actions.
Ensure workplace practices conform to established company guidelines, including IGGN requirements.
Identify opportunities to improve safety through supply chain processes and procurement practices.
Incorporate Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements into supplier and contractor agreements and enforce compliance.
Negotiate and review contract terms and conditions to protect company interests.
Follow applicable antitrust rules and obtain timely approvals under company Delegation of Authority requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
